1st element of art and it has to do with lines, lines have different thicknesses but they cannot create shapes. You can create almost anything that doesn't have connected lines and it would be considered line art. In my case I drew some sort of space cat with a blob of something around it. I don't know what I was thinking when I created it I just drew.
Shape:
2nd element of art and it consists of connected lines to create shapes, circles, squares and triangles are all forms of shapes. The way I showed my knowledge of shape is I created a 4x4 grid and I filled each individual square with a shape and each box on the other side mirrored the previous boxes. I used triangles circles squares and diamonds.
Space:
3rd element of art, it uses the negative and positive spaces of the paper. The white part of the paper is the negative and the Black is the positive. I drew a pencil that crosses the two planes and changes. When the pencil is on the negative side the pencil is black, When the pencil is on the positive side it is white.
Texture:
4th element of art. It shows the texture of something on paper that might look like it feels that way but really when you touch its still paper, I drew 2 cacti in the desert and they look very prickly. I was originally going to draw water on glass to represent moisture but it didn't turn out to well so I drew the cacti.
Color:
5th element of art. Pretty straight forward, its the color wheel and it shows the primary, secondary and tertiary colors. The way I showed color is I drew a triangle split into 3 spaces with the 3 primary colors and 3 more triangles surrounding the first triangle with secondary colors.
Form:
6th element of art. Focuses on 3D drawings, cubes, cylinders and prisms are all examples of form. The way I showed this is I drew the Penrose triangle in the middle of the cube and I have 4 cubes in the corners and 2 cylinders beside the triangle.
Reflection:
Overall this was a really easy project and it didn't take long at all to complete. The point of the project is to show the 6 elements of art in the form of a cube. The 6 elements is Line, Shape, Form, Texture, Color and Space. I think if i fooled around a little bit less I could have put more thought into some of my drawings and made them look even better. I am looking forward to further projects in Chris's class.
